STL Tones has unveiled the Andy James Revenant Hardware Preamp pedal, the company's first ever hardware product.

A follow-up to STL's Andy James Plug-In Suite, which was released last month, the Revenant - which was designed with acclaimed U.K. shred guitarist Andy James and Ignite Amps - is a high gain preamp pedal designed to emulate all the behaviors of a tube amp.

It features controls for gain and volume, in addition to a four-knob EQ - featuring bass, low mids, high mids and treble. A focus footswitch - which boosts the user's signal with additional gain, tightness and compression - and a shape toggle, to choose between modern and vintage response, both come standard.

“I’ve wanted to do a guitar pedal for a long time," James said in a press release. "It’s taken until now for me to really trust someone with my vision for what a guitar pedal would be if I were to actually design one myself and I have to say, STL really nailed this. The end result has totally blown me away and gone way past any expectations I might of had for it.

"When I first got into the studio and tried it out, I couldn’t believe how good it sounded - amazing! It’s so responsive, even when you turn the guitar down, just the sort of thing you would expect a valve amp to do. It’s got that perfect tone, super crisp and smooth with the picking, even on single notes. For me it’s just that perfect response I want to get out of a pedal like this.”

The STL Andy James Revenant Hardware Preamp Pedal is available for preorder now for $299.99.
