If you haven't gone shopping for wireless headphones, you might be in for a shock—they can be pretty expensive. That's why it warms my heart (just a little) when I see some of our favorite Bluetooth headphones on sale, especially these. Of all the headphones I've tested for WIRED in the past six months, the Plantronics Voyager 8200 UC[1] have become one of my favorites. Right now, they're more than $100 off on Amazon.
The Plantronics Voyager 8200 UC are on sale for $245[2], $135 off their regular price of $380.
The Black version[3] is also discounted if you don't care for white and tan.
The Voyager 8200 UC are worthy of our WIRED Recommends seal of approval[4] with excellent 20-hour battery life, great sound with strong (but not overpowering) bass, and two active noise cancellation settings. They're not the best looking set of cans I've worn, but they won me over by working so well and feeling so comfortable. Believe me, if you fly frequently or commute on a noisy train, these will make your life just a little quieter.
They have four microphones in them that cancel noise out as you talk, making them surprisingly good for phone calls. I also like how they auto pause the second you lift up even one of the earcups, then restart when they're back on. The earcups also have a nice hinge, so you can rest them on your shoulders without feeling like you're being strangled by a really weak guy[5]. Whether you think the styling's hot or not, give them some consideration.
