Nokia 1 will reportedly be among the first Android Go smartphones[1] to launch, and could hit the market in March 2018. According to a new report, the upcoming Nokia[2] smartphone will sport a HD display, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB internal storage. As for the price, Nokia 1[3] buyers will reportedly have to shell out RUB 5,990 (approximately Rs. 6,670). Apart from this, Huawei is also said to be working on an Android Go handset. For those unaware, Android Go[4] is Google’s[5] latest attempt at enhancing the user experience on low-end smartphones with the help of a lighter version of Android (current version is named Android Oreo Go Edition) as well as lightweight apps, such as Google Go, Files Go, YouTube Go, Google Maps Go.

Xiaomi Mi 7 may feature face unlock instead of fingerprint sensor
The fingerprint sensor on the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 7 may give way to face unlock[6], now that the technology has become a USP for vendors since the launch of iPhone X[7]. It is said to use 3D face sensing technology to map the user’s face and unlock the handset. The company has apparently not shown interest in the upcoming technology that integrates the fingerprint sensor within the display (called in-display fingerprint sensor), which suggests the sensor may be ditched entirely in the next flagship. However, a separate report claims that the Mi 7[8] will indeed have an in-display fingerprint sensor, so we will have to wait for a few months to find out which route Xiaomi[9] takes.
