While Xiaomi[1] is set to expand its presence in India with the launch of its affordable Redmi 5A, Micromax[2] looks set to make things difficult for its Chinese competitor by bringing the Bharat 5 to the country - just a day after the India launch of the new Redmi handset. The Indian smartphone vendor is hosting an event in Gurugram on Friday, December 1 to announce the launch of its new offering. But ahead of its formal arrival, the media invite and social teaser that have been shared suggest that the new Micromax smartphone would have a massive battery life.

The invite features a tagline that reads, "Witness the 'Power of 5'". Further, the company released a teaser on Thursday that suggests a large battery, likely to be somewhere around 5000mAh. The teaser image also includes a flash icon that would be a hint towards a fast charge technology.

Micromax brought its Bharat range of smartphones[3] of affordable smartphones with the launch of the Bharat 2[4] in April. The smartphone was debuted with 4G VoLTE support and was launched at a price of Rs. 3,499. In September, Micromax launched the Bharat 3[5] and Bharat 4[6] as the superior models in the new line[7] - following the success of selling over two million Bharat 2[8]. Both the handsets were launched with Android 7.0 Nougat and localised features such as support for 22 Indian languages. While the Bharat 3 was priced at Rs. 4,499, the Bharat 4 had arrived with a price tag of Rs. 4,999.
