The iPhone X[1] and the Google Pixel 2 XL[2] feature heavily on this episode of Orbital - our weekly technology podcast. We invited your questions about the two phones via Facebook and Twitter, and then got our experts to weigh in. Senior Editor Gagan Gupta[3] and Deputy Reviews Editor Roydon Cerejo[4] join host Pranay Parab[5] to answer your queries. We start by talking about our experience with the iPhone X and the Pixel 2 XL. Roydon mentions all the bugs that have been discovered since the Pixel 2 XL's launch and whether people should factor these in before buying. Gagan then talks about Face ID and his experience with Apple's[6] new biometric identification technology.

Then we start answering your questions. Here we address queries such as which of these phones has the better camera, why these two companies removed the headphone jack, and how the iPhone X fares against the Samsung Galaxy Note 8[7]. There were more specific queries too - such as whether iPhone X's Face ID works under bright sunlight, if iOS 11[8] is a good software update, and whether it's worth the asking price.

We then talk about the amazing features both these phones have and whether that means you should be paying the launch price for these products. That's followed by a brief discussion on discounts and when people can expect a price drop on the iPhone X and the Pixel 2 XL.

That's all for this week's episode of Orbital[9], which you can subscribe to via Apple Podcasts[10] or RSS[11], or just hit the play button below....
