
Nokia 2, HMD Global's most affordable Android smartphone, has finally gone up for pre-orders. The new Nokia 2 is available to pre-order in Russia where it comes with a price tag[1] of RUB 7,990 (roughly Rs. 8,800). Announced last week, Nokia licensee HMD Global had confirmed[2] that the Nokia 2[3] will be going on sale global starting mid-November and revealed a global average price of EUR 99 (roughly Rs. 7,500).
The company is yet to reveal an India price tag of the new Nokia[4] smartphone. The company is marketing the 4100mAh battery that is claimed to deliver up to 2 days of battery life, and premium design with polycarbonate body and 6000 Series Aluminium frame as the highlights of the smartphone. Nokia 2 also has a 5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) LTPS display that HMD Global says is best-in-class, with 1:1300 contrast ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. At this price, the handset will compete against the likes of Xiaomi Redmi 4A[5] and Moto C[6].

The Nokia 2 runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat, and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 SoC (quad-core, clocked up to 1.2GHz) coupled with 1GB of LPDDR3 RAM. The smartphone sports an 8-megapixel rear autofocus camera with LED flash, and a 5-megapixel front fixed focus camera.
